Quick Kiddo Update

Hi all-

We had our appointment last week to ensure that baby growth was not slowed by losing some placenta.  We were reassured that baby’s trajectory of growth was good, and apparently my womb is now proving to be quite hospitable.  By dates, I was 27 weeks 6 days at the ultrasound and overall by ultrasound the baby measured 29 weeks 5 days (75th percentile).  Our sophomore is weighing in around 3 pounds currently. All good news.  For those of you interested in numbers the stats are below.  I’m sure you will be shocked that the largest, yet again, is head circumference:

Head circumference: 278 mm 30 weeks, 3 days
Abdominal circumference: 248 mm 29 weeks, 1 days
Femur length: 5 mm 29 weeks, 0 days
Humerus length: 52 mm 30 weeks, 2 days

Given the recent growth, it makes sense that the last few days I have been feeling pretty physically drained.  Growing a baby sure takes some energy!

As for our first born, she is spending her last “Tuesday With Tuney” home with Papa today. They’ve planned a fun trip to the pool for the series finale. Since June started daycare she has gone 4 days/week and one day she’s been home with Geoff, as his schedule has Tuesdays off. June starts Primary (Montessori-preschool) next week, which is 5 days/week.  She’s pretty excited as they’re talking about it at school and we’re discussing it with her too, so she’s ready.  Her first day will be next Thursday, although all will be at the same location it’s a new classroom and feels like a big step – for mama.  I’m sure I’ll cry, especially when I see her wearing her backpack.  She’s already told me, “Mama, I’m going to primary with Eli, Lauren and Ryann.”  All of her friends that have been together since they first started day care – it’s sure cute.

Transitions all around!

SOOOO glad to hear such good news about your pregnancy at this point. Whew!

I am really excited that she's going to Montessori and will be interested in your comments on their programming. She will very likely LOVE this system!

    Love,
    Aunt E.
