June has been having some really great lines and stories lately, so I wanted to capture a few:
1.
Typically when she gets home from school, she can watch a TV show while we get dinner and Mabel ready for bed. When Mabel is settled and it’s just us, sometimes she’ll want to play or lately she’ll want to watch one of “our shows” and we’ll choose a show that June can talk through (because she’s not really ever silent). We usually choose a cooking show – America’s Test Kitchen is the favorite; June even says that it’s her favorite show – calling it “Kinetic Test Kitchen.” Last night I wanted to mix it up and turned on Barefoot Contessa. We were watching it for a bit and as Ina was explaining to us how to make a fruit tart and giving tips to the camera and June says, “Is she talking to us?”
Geoff and I could barely keep it together to answer!

June has been coming up to our bed in the middle of the night. We’ve been pretty good about making sure she goes to the bathroom right at bedtime so she doesn’t pee the bed. Last night she wanted to snuggle in our bed to start the night and I was exhausted so I couldn’t resist. She slept in our bed and did just fine. I got up early and got in the shower while she was still asleep in our bed. Next thing I see was June completely naked standing in front of the shower. I said good morning and asked her what was going on.
June: Mama. Well, I didn’t have an accident, but your bed is just a little bit wet. I didn’t have an accident, but it’s a little wet. Just on my side of the bed. Not yours.
Me: Are you sure you didn’t have an accident? How did the bed get wet?
June: UUUuuummm. Well, I’m not really sure.
Me: What happened to your pajamas?
June: They just got a little wet too.
Me: Huh. How did that happen?
June: Yeah, I don’t know. (shrugs her shoulders)

Tonight she had a Popsicle for a treat after dinner. She ate the whole thing and then said, “I tried a whole Popsicle. I had to try the whole thing and I didn’t really like it. So can I try another one?”
Smooth.
